KARACHI: The Minister for Defence and Chairman PIA Choudhry Ahmad Mukhtar, has said that the democratic government will provide all out support towards energy conservation and for protection of environment.
This he said here on Saturday during PIA's joining ceremony of Earth Hour Campaign, the World largest Global Climate Change Initiative led by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
The Managing Director PIA, Nadeem Khan Yousufzai, also vowed to continue PIA's efforts towards creation of awareness for green environment in his organization.
Later, Choudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Nadeem Khan Yousufzai, PIA Board of Directors and senior officials of the airline signed the Earth Hour Poster reflecting their commitment to Earth Hour Campaign at the airline's Head Office.
Managing Director PIA, Nadeem Khan Yousufzai, while sharing his views on the occasion said that Earth Hour Campaign 2011 will achieve positive results by way of conserving electricity and creating awareness on climate change.
We commit to participate in the initiatives for bettering the climatic environment', he added.
Nadeem Yousafzai said that PIA will take Earth Hour Campaign to new heights by launching an enhanced awareness programme to use only essential lights on permanent basis thus enhancing awareness towards the need for action on climate change.
Earth Hour Posters had been displayed at PIA business centres to encourage employees and passengers to take part in Earth Hour.
