The anti-encroachment operation has further been intensified in RCB areas aimed at providing relief to the citizens visiting the markets.

According to the Additional Executive Cantonment Officer (AECO) RCB, Shakeel Anwar Jappa, the grand clean-up operation against encroachments is underway in RCB areas and under the special instructions of the Station Commander Rawalpindi, it has been accelerated.

He said that RCB markets are regularly being visited and staff concerned conducting raids at main markets. eight truckloads including 25 hand push carts were confiscated during last three days from different areas. 50 shopkeepers were issued challan slips on Peshawar road besides removing 15 milk animals from residential areas.

The vendors who are found selling their products while displaying on footpaths and different roads are imposed fines with warnings, he said.

He said that strict action would be taken against those violating the orders.

He further informed that unwrapped tyres are also being confiscated from markets under a special campaign being run against dengue.
