ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Secretary Information Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday said that PPP government made many great achievements including reforms in the Constitution during the past three years.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that government has tried to take provinces onboard on all matters due to which it announced Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan package, Gilgit-Baltistan package, restored sacked employees and gave incentives to agriculture sector.
Owing to the government policies, the country is now exporting 2.5 million tons wheat, instead of importing it and has achieved the highest export target, he said.
Kaira said that present government was making all out efforts for the socio-economic uplift of the country.
He said that the institutions were confronting numerous problems in the past but the PPP government after coming into power made earnest efforts to strengthen national institutions.
To a question, he said that the government had launched development projects including construction of water reservoirs to meet the growing demand of the energy sector.
The PPP Information Secretary urged all the stakeholders to play their due role for the speedy progress and prosperity of the country.
He said that the government had initiated Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to mitigate the sufferings of the poor, particularly in rural areas.
To another question, he said that it is a success of the PPP- led government that it is going to complete its five-year parliamentary tenure.
