LONDON: The euro climbed to a two-week high against sterling on Wednesday, a fourth day of gains for the single currency, tracking its rise versus the dollar.
The euro touched a high of 80.245 pence and was later up 0.2 percent on the day at 80.24 pence.
The single currency got a lift against the dollar from buying by sovereign investors, while speculation that UK services data may miss expectations weighed on the pound.
