LONDON: The Australian dollar fell to a four-week low against the US dollar and a 3-1/2 month low against the euro on Wednesday, extending losses after data showed the biggest Australian trade deficit in 3-1/2 years.
The Australian dollar fell to US$1.0202, its weakest since Sept. 6, while the euro hit A$1.2635, its strongest since mid-June.
The Canadian dollar also tracked falls in the Australian currency, with the US dollar rising to a four-week high of C$0.9874 as speculators cut long positions in the CCanadian currency.
