LONDON: Europe's main stock markets closed lower on Tuesday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares down 0.41 percent at 5,762.71 points.
In Paris, the CAC 40 fell by 0.3 percent to 3,892.71 points while in Frankfurt the DAX closed down 0.52 percent to close at 6,780.97 points.
