ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday expressed his profound sorrow and grief on the demise of renowned writer and author of several Urdu books and short stories, Hajra Masroor who passed away on Saturday morning in Karachi at the age of 82.
President appreciated her life long services for the promotion of Urdu literature through her books and short stories.
President said Hajra Masroor had been advocating social, political, legal, and economic rights of women and got several awards, including the Pride of Performance Award for best writer in 1995.
President Zardari prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
