ISLAMABAD: Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) flew over the flood affected areas of Jacobabad District on Thursday.
Earlier, the Air Chief was briefed at PAF Base Shahbaz by the Base Commander about the flood relief activities being planned by PAF in different parts of Jacobabad District.
While talking to the field Commanders, he appreciated their work and advised them to make all out efforts to fully support the affected people in the best possible manner and to look after their needs, PAF Directorate of Media Affairs reported.
On the instructions of CAS, PAF Disaster Management Cells have already been activated at Air Headquarters, Southern Air Command and a few PAF Bases.
The PAF Disaster Management System is fully integrated with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) and Joint Staff Crises Management Center (JSCMC).
PAF's Air Transport and Helicopter Fleets are also standing by to undertake relief sorties whenever required by NDMA.
