DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least three persons were killed and 18 others injured in a bomb blast here on National Highway on Thursday. "Unknown men had planted an explosive device in a motorcycle and parked on the National Highway passing through the town," police sources said adding they later detonated it when a convoy of Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) was passing.
As a result of the explosion, three persons were killed on the spot and 18 others including OGDC employees and citizens suffered serious injuries, they maintained.
The dead were identified as Nizamuddin and Muhammad Ishaq while the injured included Kamran, Muhammad Nawaz, Samiullah, Muhammad Ilyas, Mehtab Khan, Shahid, Nazar Muhammad, Muhammad Deen, Zahoor Ahmed, Shabbir Ahmed, Haji Khan and Naimatullah.
The injured have been shifted to hospitals in Sibi and Larkana. The Law enforcement agencies and police led by Acting DPO Naseerabad Javed Shah reached the place soon after the incident and cordoned off the area to arrest the suspects.
Meanwhile, the police have taken 70 suspects into custody and interrogating them.
