Covid-19 cases in KP climb to 744 with 145 recoveries, 34 deaths

Advisor to KP CM on Information, Ajmal Wazir has said that the number of total coronavirus positive cases is 744 while 145 have been recovered and 34 died so far.

Talking to media at the Medial Cell of the Information Department here Monday, the advisor said that 47 new coronavirus positive cases have been reported during last 24 hours and collectively 4305 tests have been conducted.

He said that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan himself is in the field for the protection of the people from coronavirus while doctors, paramedics and military personnel performing duties on frontline are national heroes and the nation will never forget their sacrifices. He said that all segments of society including traders, ulema and general public have joined hands with the government to defeat coronavirus.

The advisor refuted a news report the missing of the 1100 pilgrims from Taftan as baseless and fabricated, saying that all pilgrims from Iran were quarantined at Drazinda, DI Khan and Duranpur (Peshawar) and after recovery they were discharged and allowed to shift to their houses.

He said that the distribution of cash amount of Rs.12000/- per family under Ehsaas Cash Emergency Programme is continued in transparent manner and that would be followed by the distribution of another amount of Rs.6000/- in these deserving persons under the provincial relief package.
