  • Chaudhry informed that laboratories in Pakistan have produced hand sanitizers that will be available for the public from Monday.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that the coronavirus testing kits will be available on a mass scale in the coming days.

Talking to media in the United States, the federal minister informed that laboratories in Pakistan have produced hand sanitizers that will be publically available from Monday.

Earlier, the minister informed that the Pakistan Council of Scientific Research (PCSIR), a department that falls under the umbrella of the Ministry of Science and Technology has developed hand sanitizers, which are now available on a mass level.

“Hand sanitizer by PCSIR (Ministry of S&T) WHO-approved standards are now available on a mass level," announced federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, in a tweet post.

The minister added that all provincial governments are advised to contact PCSIR in the provincial Head Quarters for mass supplies. He added that the product will also be made available on Utility stores.

Hand sanitizers have become necessary items these days amid the emergence of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Across the globe, the mysterious COVID-19 has claimed over 10,000 lives while over a quarter of million persons are affected by it in more than 150 countries including Pakistan, where the number of coronavirus cases has exploded to over 400, with Sindh province the worst hit.
