Jordan issues new tender to buy 120,000 tonnes wheat
- In the past few months Jordan has struggled to buy wheat and barley in tenders after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by international trading houses.

HAMBURG: Jordan's state grain buyer the trade ministry has issued an international tender to buy 120,000 tonnes of milling wheat which can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Monday.

In the past few months Jordan has struggled to buy wheat and barley in tenders after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by international trading houses.
But recent tenders have been considerably more successful. Jordan purchased 60,000 tonnes in its last wheat tender on March 10 at $219 a tonne c&f to be shipped in the second half of September.
The new tender seeks hard wheat for shipment in a range of possible combinations in 60,000 tonne consignments.
Possible shipment periods are Aug. 16-31, Sept. 1-15, Sept. 16-30 and Oct. 1-15.
Jordan has also issued a separate tender to buy 120,000 tonnes of animal feed barley which closes on Wednesday.
