New Zealand dollar hits near 4-mth low vs USD

WELLINGTON: The New Zealand dollar hit a near four-month low against the US dollar on Monday, extending losses due to weak domestic economic data, falling commodity prices and a slide in currencies considered to be higher risk.

The New Zealand dollar fell as low as $0.7936 in early local trade, plumbing its weakest since Jan. 17.

It fell as low as 63.39 yen according to Reuters data, while it also fell against the euro and other currencies.
