An eight years old girl was gang rapped and tortured to death in Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, police and her relatives said. According to relatives of the deceased Ghawaz Noor, 8, a resident of Kaka Sahib went to seminary along with one of his sisters Ashtalfa on January 18 but she did not return home.
The relatives while quoting the sister of the deceased said that on their way home from the seminary, the accused Ibdar called the deceased Noor to give her a cosmetic. The deceased went with accused Ibdar but her sister did not inform her family members about all this, they said. They said that late in the evening when the deceased did not return home, her relatives made announcements from the mosques' loudspeakers and also conducted search in the nearby areas but failed to find any clue to trace her.
Later, the sister of the deceased told her family members that Noor had gone with Ibdar after he offered her cosmetics. The unfortunate family members soon went to Ibdar house and held him up. After questioning, Ibdar confessed before her relatives that along with one Rafique Ullah rapped and tortured death Noor to death.
The relatives, on receiving information went to Rafique Ullah residence and also held him up. The relatives of the deceased also recorded a confessional video from the culprits.
They relatives of the deceased girl handed over both the culprits to the police and registered a case against them. Police have started investigation and recovered the dead body.
Superintendent of Police investigation Sajjad Khan told reporters that police have started search and recovered dead body from a water tank near the residence of the deceased. Police shifted the dead body of deceased for autopsy to hospital, he said.
He said that after receiving complaint of the deceased's family, police started random checking at entry and exit points for ensuring the arrest of culprit involved in this heinous crime. Both the alleged culprits Ibdar and Raffique Ullah during preliminary investigation confessed to the crime. A source in the police said that the tortured body suggests that the girl might have been raped before she was murdered.
