The Sindh government has put five development projects in high priority sectors, which would be undertaken with the financial assistance of international development partners.

The investment agreements with the international development partners, which in rupee terms come to Rs 226 billion is in addition to Rs 36 billion, allocated in Annual Development Plan (ADP) for the current financial year, an analysis document of the Sindh government on provincial budget for the financial year 2019-20 indicated.

The high priority sectors for which these investments have been singed include Karachi Neighbourhood Improvement Project; a US$98 million project aims to enhance public spaces in targeted neighbourhoods; improve urban roads infrastructure and improve Ease of Doing Business. The project is under execution presently.

Also, Competitive and Livable City of Karachi (CLICK) is a US$ 240 million intervention envisaging institutional strengthening & infrastructure financing of Local Councils in Karachi; overhaul of Urban Immoveable Property tax and improving Ease of Doing Business.

Karachi Water Sewerage and Sewerage Improvement Project (KWSSIP) is a US$ 105 million World Bank Assisted project, which focuses on long term strengthening of the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SB) through multiple reforms.

BRT Yellow Line worth $ 438 million project is another mega transport intervention for the city, which falls in high priority sector.

BRT RED Line worth $ 561 million, funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) is also included in the list of high priority sectors.
