Business Recorder op-ed writer and the head of newspaper's research department Ali Khizar appears to be in a good form. One of the points that he has highlighted in his latest article "C/A: Myths and realities" carried by the newspaper on Sunday presents a sardonic comment on our so-called experts' approach to the subject of economics and finance. He has argued, among other things, "there are two lessons to learn. First, not everyone is expert on everything, and people should refrain from commenting on what they don't know. The other lesson is to do away from the mindset of criticizing your opposition, even when the ground realities are stark opposite to what you say - one may lose credibility in the process. PM IK used to do this when he was in opposition, and now all the other stakeholders have joined against him, and are doing it in an ugly form."

While fully agreeing with what the writer has articulated, I could say with a measure of certainty that some of our "experts" will surely find it difficult to explain terms 'micro-economics' and 'macroeconomics'.
