The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Akram Khan Durrani to appear before it in connection with an inquiry initiated against him and his son on corruption charges and for allegedly accumulating assets beyond their known sources of income.
Sources said the NAB summoned Durrani to appear before its investigators today (Friday).
Both the father and his son Zahid, an MNA from Bannu, are facing the same charges of having "assets beyond known sources of income" and allegedly committing corruption in two housing projects announced by the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation.
The NAB's executive boarding meeting (EBM) on April 20, 2018 launched an inquiry against Durrani, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) Foundation Jamil Ahmad Khan, company secretary Zafaryab Khan and others on charges of misuse of authority.
The accused were allegedly involved in illegal allotment of land of PHA at Kuri Road and land allocated for mosques in Sectors I-12 and I-16 to their blue-eyed persons.
