The Karachi Port handled 129,016 tonnes of cargo comprising 96,476 tonnes of import cargo and 32,540 tonnes of export cargo including 12 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.

The total import cargos of 96,476 tonnes comprised of 72 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,059 tonnes of bulk cargo; 20,843 tonnes of DPA and 73,502 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 32,540 tonnes comprised of 32,540 tonnes of clinker.

As many as 12 containers comprising of 12 containers import and nil containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The breakup of imported containers shows nil of 20's and 06 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows nil of 20's and nil of 40's loaded containers while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were two ships namely Al Mahboobah and Al Rayan carrying chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were two vessels viz. Xin Hong Kong and Venture Pearl carrying containers and fertilizer respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 189,707 tonnes comprising 134,189 tonnes of import cargo and 55,518 tonnes of export cargo including 3,964 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The total import cargo of 134,189 tonnes includes 40,148 tonnes of coal; 6,400 tonnes of palm oil; 30,940 tonnes of LNG; 18,500 tonnes of chemical; 18,014 tonnes of mogas; 389 tonnes general cargo and 19,798 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 55,518 tonnes includes 55,518 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 3,964 containers comprising of 1,042 containers import and 2,922 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

There were two ships namely MOL Gateway and Al-Thumma carrying containers and LNG respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely MSC Valencia, Kaptan Arif Bay Paktar and Argent Sunrise carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.

A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, chemical, LNG, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as seven vessels viz. Nagoya Express, Venture Gola, Snowy, Savita Naree, GS Adventure, SC Hong Kong and Sloane Square carrying containers, coal, chemical and mogas respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were four ships viz. Hugo Schulte, Nagoya Express, Snowy and GS Adventure carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.

There was one ship namely Hugo Schulte carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while another ship namely Cosco Japan carrying containers is due to arrive on Friday.
