New LHC judge takes oath

LAHORE: A newly-appointed additional judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday took oath of his office.

LHC Chief Justice Sh Azmat Saeed administered oath to Justice Ali Baqar Najfi in a ceremony at the LHC Judges' lounge.

LHC judges, federal and provincial law officers, Lahore High Court Bar Association office-bearers, families of judges and a large number of senior lawyers attended the ceremony.

President Asif Ali Zardari appointed the additional judge, on recommendations of the parliamentary committee and judicial commission, for a period of one year.

After the induction, the strength of the LHC judges has become 40.
