The main character of the judge video scandal, Nasir Butt on Friday filed an affidavit in Islamabad High Court (IHC) in reply to the affidavit submitted by former Accountability Judge Mohammad Arshad Malik.
Butt in his affidavit claimed that the allegation leveled by Malik in his affidavit against him is totally baseless. He said he has never threatened or blackmailed the former judge. "If Malik had ever received any threat, why he had not informed the monitoring judge or the security agencies." he asked.
He said that Malik leveled allegations against him after surfacing of an audio and video recording of his meeting with him. He does not know about any immoral video of Malik, adding that the former judge complained that an institution and a judge pressurized him to convict former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The main character in his affidavit said that the former judge had repeatedly expressed his desire to meet Sharif for seeking his forgiveness over the conviction. Following the continuous insistence, Sharif had agreed to meet him, he added. Malik convicted Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference but acquitted him in the Flagship Investment reference.
