QUETTA: At least seven people have been killed and one has been injured in three separate incidents of firing in the provincial capital on Saturday.
Police sources said unknown gunmen riding bike opened fire at a vehicle on Brewery road, killing six people who were seated in the vehicle. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.
In another incident of firing, unidentified armed men opened fire on people on Sabzal road. Resultantly, one person was killed and another injured.
A report reaching here said that in a third incident of firing within jurisdiction of PS Shalkot, a police personnel has been killed, however, police sources did not confirm the killing of the policeman so far.
The law enforcement agencies personnel including Frontier Corps and police rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to Bolan Medical college hospital. According to doctors, the condition of the injured is very serious.
The law enforcement personnel have cordoned off the affected areas and launched search operation to trace out the attackers. Police sources said that according to preliminary investigation, the attacks and firing are apparently seen to be linked with sectarian target killing.
