LONDON: e euro rose to a one-week high against the dollar on Thursday, extending gains as reported stop loss buy orders were triggered and helped by Italian bond yields edging lower despite weaker-than-expected demand at a debt auction.
The euro rose to a high of $1.3177, surpassing the previous day's high around $1.3158. This pushed the dollar to a one-week low of 79.412.
Traders cited stop loss orders in the euro on the break above $1.3155-60.
