ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will pay an official visit to the United Kingdom next month.
"Prime Minister Gilani will hold wide ranging talks with his British counterpart and other leaders focusing on further strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing strategic dialogue during his official to UK," said Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit in his weekly briefing here today.
Pakistan and United Kingdom have very strong relations and the UK Prime Minister David Cameron during his last visit to Pakistan said UK wants to deepen and enhance the unbreakable partnership between two countries.
The spokesman said Prime Minister Gilani during his visit will discuss bilateral relations and enhanced strategic dialogue, role of Pakistani immigrants in UK, war against militants and the current regional situation and Pakistan's efforts for greater trade access in the EU.
Over one million strong Pakistani community in UK with seven in the House of Common and four in the House of Lords serving as a strong bridge between the two countries.
The two countries also keen to increase the bilateral trade to pounds 2.5 billion by 2015.
Britain has been providing assistance to Pakistan in different fields including education, health, and capacity building in various departments.
