A group comprising students and faculty members from Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) visited Special Communications Organisation on a study tour under Youth Engagement Initiative Program. The guests were warmly welcomed by DG SCO Major-General Ali Farhan HI (M) and higher officials. The group was given briefing on present and future communication and information technology projects in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The students were told that talent appreciation activities are one of the regular features of SCO's operations. These activities are aimed at promoting the local talent especially youth from far flung areas in the field of education, sports, art and culture. As part of this effort, SCO recently held a painting competition titled "My People - My Land" and provided a platform for remote region talent of AJ&K and GB to showcase both nationally and internationally. The competition for photography has also been conducted under the same theme and the exhibition is being organized at the national level.-PR
