KP urges Centre to declare Tor Ghar tax free zone

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has urged the Federal Government to declare Tor Ghar, new district of Hazara Division, a tax free zone.

The KP Government in a letter informed the Federal Finance Ministry that Tor Ghar was given the status of 25th district of the province in order to improve law and order in that area and its people were demanding for declaring the district a tax free zone on the patron of Malakand division.

It also asked the Federal Government to also exempt the district from Customs Act.

It justified the demand saying the district was earlier part of the PATA where taxes were not applicable on the local dwellers.
