ISLAMABAD: Father of Nation" Muhammad Ali Jinnah was being remembered on his 71st death anniversary today.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on 25th December, 1876. He was a lawyer, a legendary politician and the founder of Pakistan.

He got his early education at Karachi and at the age of 16 he went to England for further studies. In 1896, Jinnah qualified for the Bar and in 1897was called to the Bar. It was his struggle that despite stiff opposition from the Hindu Congress and the British Government.

Muslims of Sub continent managed to get their own home land on August14,1947. Jinnah was a man of principles.

He was probably the only person among all the big leaders of the world, who never went to jail. He was the first Governor General of Pakistan.

Quran Khawani and Fateha was held at Quaid's mausoleum in Karachi.

To mark the day, various programs were chalked out by educational institutions and political, social and cultural organizations to shed light on the personality and leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Television and radio channels also broadcast special program to highlight different aspects of the life of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and focus on his extra-ordinary political struggle.

Born on December 25th 1876, Jinnah served as leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan's creation on August 14, 1947. He then served as Pakistan's first Governor-General until his death.

The Quaid also desired that every citizen should have equal opportunities of education, health, progress and justice.

Jinnah died at age 71 on September 11, 1948, just over a year after Pakistan gained independence from the British rule. He left a deep and respected legacy in Pakistan.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in his message said that dream of Indian Sub-Continent's Muslims for an independent homeland was materialized under dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He said that we are living as an independent nation today because of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a man of principle and a courageous leader.

Quaid-e-Azam's motto of Unity, Faith and Discipline is guarantor of progress and prosperity of country and Pakistan can get rid of all crises by following his golden principles, He added.
