Army troops put on standby in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The government put on standby army troops under Article 245 of the Constitution to act in acid of civil law enforcement agencies in securing the federal capital during Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to a notification issued by Ministry of Interior, in exercise of the powers conferred under article 245 of the constitution, is please to authorise deployment of 350 Pakistan army troops (standby) to act in aid to civil powers, subject to laws in force in Pakistan during Muharram.
