RECORDER REPORT: KSE close of day

KARACHI: Late buying mainly by local investors and institutions on Tuesday supported the KSE-100 index to close in positive at 13,691.08 points, up 27.76 points.

The market witnessed a mixed trend throughout the session with the index moving both sides between 13,725.42 points intra-day high and 13,597.77 points intra-day low levels.

Trading activities slightly improved as the volumes at ready counter increased to 318.143 million shares as compared to 315.368 million shares traded on Monday. Total market capitalization increased by Rs 7 billion to Rs 3.511 trillion. Of the total 366 active stocks, 167 closed in negative and 129 in positive while the value of 70 scrips remained unchanged.

Jahangir Siddiqui Co was the volume leader with 56.777 million shares and gained Rs 1.02 to close at Rs 21.71. Azgard Nine inched up by Re 0.97 to close at Rs 9.28 with 26.802 million shares.

DG Khan Cement lost Re 0.30 to close at Rs 37.76 with 22.334 million shares.
