ISLAMABAD: The 33rd death anniversary of founder of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will be observed across the country on April 4 (Wednesday).
The main ceremony will be held in Garhi Khuda Bux, the final resting place of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who sacrificed his life for democracy instead of bowing down to a dictator.
Thousands of Bhutto lovers including senior PPP leaders have started reaching Larkana, Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux to attend the anniversary.
The day long ceremonies in Garhi Khuda Bux will start with Qur'an Khawani at the mausoleum of the PPP founder on Wednesday morning.
Thousands of people were seen standing in queues on Tuesday to visit the last resting places of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, his martyred daughter Benazir Bhutto, and his sons Shahnawaz Bhutto and Murtaza Bhutto.
"Bhutto is the symbol of courage and he struggled for the democracy in Pakistan and sacrificed his life for the same cause", Leader Pakistan Peoples Party, Qamar Zaman Karia said while talking to APP.
Sindh Police will ensure extra-security measures for foolproof security arrangements on the occasion. "Blanket cover by the police is a need of the hour to tackle any security situation," a provincial government official said adding, elaborated security measures have been made and Sindh government has deployed policemen for vigilance.
Besides that Rangers and Commandos will also be deployed.
The official said scanners have been installed at the entry point and visitors were being frisked if required.
The organizing committee has set up separate camps for the accommodation and reception of workers and leaders arriving here from across the country.
The Sindh and Balochistan governments have announced a public holiday on the death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on April 4, across the province.
The holiday will be observed in all provincial government offices, autonomous, semi autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of Government of Sindh.
In federal capital, a ceremony will be held at the PPP Central Secretariat to observe the death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
The ceremony will start with Qur'an Khawani and prominent PPP leaders will highlight achievements and services of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in their speeches.
All the arrangements have been completed to observe 33nd death anniversary of former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto at Jinnah Park Rawalpindi (Old jail).
Member Central Executive Committee, Qazi Sultan Mehmood said Qur'an Khawani will be held at 10.00 a.m. and `Dua' will be offered at 1.00 pm.
The local leadership will attend the ceremony and highlight the achievements of Shaheed ZAB who struggled hard for the democracy in the country and sacrificed his life for the people of Pakistan.
‘Bhutto Lungar’ will also be distributed on the occasion.
Various programs including seminars, workers' convention would also be organized in different parts of the country to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Awan.
Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television will also on air special transmission to mark the anniversary to highlight life, struggle, services and revolutionary achievements of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
