Tokyo shares under pressure as Fed voices caution

TOKYO: Tokyo shares opened lower Thursday, trailing falls on Wall Street after the Fed cut rates but voiced caution going forward.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index lost 0.82 percent or 176.08 points to 21,345.45 in early trade while the broader Topix index fell 0.58 percent or 9.15 points to 1,555.99.
