ISLAMABAD: The government has reduced the electricity shortfall from 6000MW to 2800MW.

According to PEPCO spokesman, total power generation has reached to 10,854 megawatts however the demand is 13, 654 megawatts, private news channel reported.

Due to improvement in oil supply, IPPs are generating 544 megawatts and thermal plants are providing 1823 megawatts of electricity. However, the hydel power generation has restrained to 2392 megawatts due to shortage of water.

The PEPCO spokesman claimed that the unannounced load shedding has been ended and now it is being made according to the schedule of the distribution companies.
