Nurses boycott work to protest police action against their colleagues

HYDERABAD: Nurses boycotted work in all government hospitals here on Thursday as they took out rallies and staged sit-ins protesting against the action on their colleagues in Karachi the other day.

The protest was organized by the Nurses Association Sindh and Sindh Paramedical Staff Association. The male and female staff of the Civil Hospital, Bhitai Hospital, C.J. Cowasjee Mental Hospital, Liaquat University Hospital and others participated in the demonstration.

The protesters demanded acceptance of their just demands and action against the policemen who ordered use of water cannons and teargas shelling to disperse the protesters in Karachi.
