ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik on Wednesday said Pakistan appreciates investment from United Arab Emirates (UAE) in all economic sectors, specially telecom which is creating better opportunities for market as well as for people.
He was talking to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Etisalat Group, Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, who called on the Minister here.
The Minister thanked UAE authorities particularly Etisalat for doing excellent work in Pakistan and added people of Pakistan are benefiting from their hospitals and continued support for flood victims.
Rehman Malik requested Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar to consider to enhance the telecom facilities for under privileged areas in Pakistan, specially in FATA, Malakand and Swat where security situation is improved.
Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar appreciated support of Senator Rehman Malik and other ministries. He said that Etisalat Group is committed to development of telecom sector in Pakistan.
The Minister assured CEO Etisalat Group for provision of full security to the PTCL/Etisalat installations and staff and appreciated the support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, President of UAE as it has always stood with Pakistan on all difficult moments, irrespective of the fact whether it is earthquake or floods.
The Minister appreciated services of Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar and his team headed by Abdul Rahim A. Al Nooryani, Chairman & CEO, Etisalat International Pakistan (EIP) and Waleed Irshad, CEO, PTCL.
