SEOUL: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Wednesday said Pakistan's financial system is stable and is one of the best in the world and asked foreign investors to take full advantage from the investment friendly atmosphere.

He was talking to Chairman Lotte Group, Shin Dong Bin who called on him here on Wednesday.

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Chairman Board of Investment Saleem Mandviwala and other officials were also present in the meeting.

Gilani said Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves have been increased to $17 billion and exporters have registered significant upward trend that are positive indicators for the attraction of foreign investors.

Referring to the financial contribution of Pakistanis working abroad including South Korea, the Prime Minister said they have been contributing a lot in improving the economy of Pakistan and added that the foreign remittances are around 12 billion dollars.

He said another indication of improving economic conditions of Pakistan is stability in stock exchange market.

Gilani said Pakistan has become wheat exporting country and has been maintaining its stocks to meet its immediate requirements.

Referring to Pakistan's economy, the Prime Minister said, "It is in right direction despite initial recession due to floods and terrorism.

The Chairman Lotte Group, which is a leading group, told the Prime Minister that his group is interested to invest in Pakistan in the field of energy, infrastructure and hotel industry.

The Lotte group has businesses in a diverse range of areas making it a large and vibrant company having business in a wide range of areas in many countries, in the fields of foodstuffs, hotels and construction.

Gilani asked the Chairman Lotte Group to take the control of Utility Store Corporation and directed the Chairman Board of Investment Saleem Mandviwala to discuss the matter with Ministry of Industry and expedite the request of Lotte Group in this regard.

The Lotte Group is engaged in a variety of business in the world over including Japan, China, USA, Europe and Pakistan.
