BELGRADE: Serbia's central bank bought an unspecified amount of euros on the local interbank market on Monday, to stem gains of the dinar against the common currency, dealers said.

The bank, which so far in 2019 bought 1.085 billion euros ($1.23 billion), stepped in as the dinar traded at around 117.83 to euro. After the euro purchase, the dinar weakened to 117.92.
