PESHAWAR: The Princess of Thailand, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn here on Wednesday said Thai government was well aware of the sacrifices of people of the brotherly country Pakistan in war against terror and totally supports the principle stance, sacrifices and efforts of the Pakistan's government on this global issue
She expressed these views while visiting the famous educational institute Islamia College University. Upon her arrival, she was welcomed by Vice Chancellor and Principal of the college.
Princes Maha Chakri visited various faculties of the college and praised the educational standards and facilities provided to the students by college administration.
She said Pakistan and Thailand are two friendly countries tied in a bond of friendship through mutual respect and understanding.
The Princes appreciated the hospitality and bravery of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and assured all out support of Thai government in field of Education, Health and Social Welfare.
She visited Islamia College Peshawar which is the symbol of academic excellence and famous for its rich in history, architecture and educational contributions.
It is not only the culminating point of the Aligarh Movement, it is in fact the beautiful combination of Aligarh and Deoband Schools of Thought.
Being the breeding ground of the Pashtun intelligentsia this great seat of learning is the place, Islamia College Peshawar was destined to become mother institution of the three universities and several colleges on its campus.
The credit of this goes to Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum, who is commonly called The Sir Sayyed of Sarhad and his sincere colleagues, who founded Islamia College Peshawar in 1913. Later, the government converted it into a university keeping in view its meritorious services on educational fronts.
