Young democracy taking root in Pakistan, says President Zardari

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday is addressing the joint session of parliament.

I am honoured to address the joint session Parliament for the fifth time in the history of the country, Zardari said, adding, that young democracy is taking root in Pakistan.

He further said democracy was flourishing in Pakistan. "We inherited terrorism, energy crisis," Zardari added.

President Zardari appreciated Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani's role for taking the country forward.

"We are thankful to all parties for strengthening democracy," he lauded.
