amin-fahimISLAMABAD: Senior Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Monday said that Pakistan would participate in the second round of Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), to be held from May 1-3 at Dubai, UAE.

According to a statement of the Ministry of Commerce issued here, in this regard, Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan Essa Abdullah Al-Basha Al-Noaimi, formally invited Makhdoom Amin Fahim to attend the second round of Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), during a meeting here.

The 2nd edition of AIM will highlight financing options and emphasize trading possibilities in frontiers and emerging markets with a strong focus high growth sector.

The AIM will include an executive leadership conference, country presentation, workshops, sits visits, ministerial working roundtable and an exhibition.

The AIM aims to stimulate international trade and cooperation, strengthen global commercial bond and provided a new and diverse portfolio of investment opportunities, pointed in the meeting.

The minister thanked UAE ambassador for this invitation and accepted the offer subsequently.

Senior Commerce Minister Makhdoom Fahim and Ambassador of UAE also talked about different ways to enhance the bilateral trade between UAE and Pakistan.

The UAE ambassador said that the UAE is a close partner of Pakistan in the region. The number of Pakistani travellers to the UAE is very large and there is a great potential for workforce in UAE.

He also told that their government is very concerned about labour force working in UAE and thus it strictly monitors that labours are not deprived from their rights, while working in UAE. The minister told that UAE has been a close friend of Pakistan since many decades.

He also highlighted that there are great opportunities of investment in both countries. Pakistani investors are very keen to invest in UAE and vice versa.
