PARIS: Algeria's state grains agency OAIC bought a total of 540,000 tonnes of optional-origin milling wheat in a tender on Thursday, said traders on Friday.
Initial results reported by traders on Thursday had given a purchase of at least 330,000 tonnes, with talk of possible additional volumes.
Algeria, one of the world's largest grain importers, does not publish details of its tenders and results cited by traders are estimates.
Traders said on Friday that the OAIC paid $238.25-$239 a tonne - cost and freight included for the wheat - marking a slightly wider range of prices than the $238.50-$239 reported on Thursday.
The wheat is due to be shipped in June.
