Chairman PEMRA calls on Governor Sindh

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Muhammad Saleem Baig along with Executive Member Ashfaq Jumani called on Governor Sindh Imran Ismail in Karachi.

Chairman PEMRA presented PEMRA’s Performance Report for the Fiscal Year 2015-18 to the Governor, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

During the meeting, Chairman discussed various issues related to electronic media industry in Pakistan and expressed his unequivocal resolve to play constructive role to address all issues related to this industry in coordination with Sindh Government.

He acknowledged the efforts of the Sindh Government in ensuring a conducive environment for electronic media in Sindh and steps taken for development of media industry. Moreover, Chairman extended his gratitude to Governor for cooperation of Sindh Government with the Authority in implementation of regulatory functions in the province.

Governor Sindh appreciated PEMRA’s constructive role in making efforts for betterment of media industry in Pakistan and spreading Pakistani voice of peace and harmony across the world.

He further lauded conduct of Pakistani media in recent standoff between India and Pakistan and appreciated professionalism shown by local media in countering Indian propaganda.

He appreciated PEMRA’s performance and its report and expressed that this publication would be beneficial for the industry.
