LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday appeared before the Lahore High Court (LHC) and assured of presenting the new law officer in a case regarding formation of new JIT on Model Town incident. Hearing application against formation of new JIT, a three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan had summoned the CM Punjab in the court. The CM appeared along with Provincial Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja and Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem.
The CM apprised the court that Advocate General Punjab Ahmed Awais had offered resignation, however, the government would present the new law officer in the case soon.
The court adjourned hearing of the case till April 19. Meanwhile, strict security measures were made during the proceedings of the court.
