Pakistan to continue its role for regional peace: Shah Mahmood Qureshi

Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Atif Mashal on Wednesday called on Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and exchanged views on the Afghan peace and reconciliation process.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal, the Afghan envoy appreciated Pakistan’s role for peace and stability in the region, particularly the efforts for restoration of peace in Afghanistan.

“Pakistan will continue to play its role for regional peace and stability, including in Afghanistan”, Qureshi was quoted as having said while talking to the Afghan ambassador.

The foreign minister also welcomed the appointment of Atif Mashal as the Afghanistan’s ambassador in Pakistan and conveyed his best wishes to him.
