RAWALPINDI: President Traders Welfare Association, Sharjeel Mir Monday urged the Federal Board of Revenue(FBR) to expand the tax net and bring the non-filers into the tax net that will help to document the economy.
In a meeting with Chairman FBR Jhanzeb Khan here along with traders delegation, he said that government should facilitate those who were paying taxes and tax filers be given privileges in hospitals, schools, airports, banks etc .
Mir also said that traders were not against taxes; however, harassment should be stopped in the name of tax collections by the FBR officials.
He said that culture of tax payment needed to be improved to bring economic stability in the country and enhance revenue base.
Sharjeel quoted the Chairman saying, that traders were backbone of the country’s economy and their demand would be resolved amicably.
He thanked the Chairman FBR and expressed the hope that frequent meetings would help in solving various issues being faced by the business community.
