Backwardness, poverty to be reduced in Balochistan

QUETTA: Governor Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai on Friday said backwardness and poverty would be reduced by utilizing all resources in the province.

He said it was the responsibility of both federal and provincial governments to improve the standard of life of the people living in backward areas, said a press release issued here.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of National Assembly Standing Committee for Sustainable Development Goals led by Member of National Assembly Riaz Fatyana which called on him at Governor House.

He said primary education was base of knowledge which could not be ignored in any way, adding in that regard, provincial government was taking practical steps to adopt modern curriculum from primary to University level for ensuring quality of education.

Yasinzai said measures were underway to end corruption from all government's departments to ensure good governance which would have positive impact in the area very soon.

It was our responsibility to provide justice to people on equality basis, he added.

The Governor Balochistan and Standing Committee members exchanged gifts and shields.
