Mepco imposes Rs 33.2mn fine on 1,244 power pilferers      

MULTAN: A taskforce of Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) imposed Rs 33.2 million fine on 1244 power pilferers during a crackdown across 13 districts of the region during the ongoing month.

According to Mepco office sources, the taskforce along with the district administration and police launched a crackdown on power pilferers and caught 1,244 accused.

The task force imposed Rs 33.2 million fine 1,204 domestic, 24 commercial, six industrial and 10 tubewell connections. The taskforce also got registered FIRs against 543 power pilferers with the police stations concerned, added the sources.
