ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari has called upon the world for making joint mechanism to deal with extremism and creating the environment of religious pluralism.

During a meeting with Australian High Commissioner, Margaret Adamson, who called on him to discuss the matters of mutual interest, Zulfi Bukhari stressed to counter hatred-provoking mind set with mutual understanding with all stakeholders. “Nobody has the right to harm people in the name of religion or race,” he added.

The special assistant thanked the high commissioner for facilitating telephonic contact amongst the victims' families here in Pakistan and their members in New Zealand affected by terror attacks' on two mosques.

He also appreciated the efforts of Margaret Adamson for timely arranging quick transit visa for those Pakistani families who were to attend the funerals of their loved ones in New Zealand. Zulfi was also admired by the Australian high commissioner for being in contact consistently over the issue with the Australian authorities. “The New Zealand Mosques attacks were a horrible incident which was perpetrated by the Australian origin,” she regretted.

The Australian government was cooperating with the New Zealand government to take strict action against those elements indulged in instigating religious hatred, she maintained.

The special assistant, appreciating the goodwill gesture of the New Zealand prime minister, said she had taken commendable steps for getting rid of extremist mind set in her country and given a message of religious harmony and peace.

Zulfikar also thanked New Zealand honorary consul general to Pakistan, Moin Fudda to arrange departure of 15 Pakistanis, who were the family members of Christchurch’s martyrs, to attend the funeral of their dear ones.
