NAB highlights role of business community to end corruption

QUETTA: Director General National Accountability Bureau Balochistan Muhammad Abid Javed on Tuesday said eradication of corruption is need of hour, for which we must work together.

NAB will play its full role in restructuring rules and regulations related to business/trade in Balochistan to end sleaze in this sector.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar "role of business community in eliminating corruption" organized by NAB Balochistan.

President Federation of Pakistan, Chamber of Commerce Dawood Khan Khilji was invited as a chief guest of the seminar.

The seminar was attended by members of different business organizations including Quetta Chamber of Commerce, Women Business Association.

Provincial Secretaries and Director NAB Balochistan Sheikh Mohammad Zahid were also present.

“NAB Balochistan under headship of Chairman NAB Justice (R) Javed Iqbal taking serious measures to combat corruption”, said DG NAB Muhammad Abid Javed.

He further said that a Special Cell has also been set up in NAB headquarters on special directions of Chairman NAB for resolving issues of business community.

DG NAB Balochistan while addressing the participants of the seminar said elimination of corruption and restoration of peace and security is essential for creating better job opportunities for masses in business sector.

He said that business/trade is an important sector, playing influential role in transforming Pakistan into a developed nation.

The reality is that International market does not does not compromise on the quality of goods, he added.

Balochistan is a vast province where all stakeholders working to promote trade and investment, the country's largest province facing many problems including unemployment and corruption “Business community is a backbone of country’s economic development, NAB values the services rendered by businesspersons”, he said.

He said many societal evils would be removed from society if young generation will be involved in consultation process.

Addressing the occasion, President Federation of Pakistan and Chamber of Commerce Dawood Khan Khilji, said that NAB should maintain this welcoming approach to restore the confidence of people.

Business community is open to sit and discuss matters with NAB, he said.

He further said that there is dire need to elucidate the laws related to business and trade in Balochistan.

He assured full support to NAB Balochistan in their undertaking to purge out corruption from the province, said he and his business associates would stand united with NAB.
