LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Monday said that terrorism was the common problem faced by the world and not a single country was its victim.

Talking to media after visiting the residence of martyred Sohail Shahid in Baghbanpura here, he said the whole world stood united against terrorism for the first time after the New Zealand terror attack.

Earlier, the governor visited the residence of Sohail Shahid who died in terrorist attack in the Christchurch mosque and condoled with the family members.

The governor offered Fateha for the departed soul and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the highest rank to the martyrs of the terrorist attack, in paradise.

Responding to a question, the governor said the foreign office was extending fullest support in the visa process to the families of the martyred.

Responding to a query, Sarwar said he had directed the police to make security arrangements for the funeral prayer in absentia for late Sohail Shahid.

To another question, he said the nation had voted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) into power for change, adding that all institutions including police would be reformed so that these could serve the masses better.

To another question, he said the whole nation besides Prime Minister Imran Khan was grieved and shocked at the loss of precious human lives in the Christchurch terror attack, adding that the empathy shown by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was commendable.

Sarwar, in response to a query, said the government of Pakistan stood by the families of all those who died in the Christchurch Mosque attack.
