ISTANBUL: Turkey's unemployment rate declined to 9.8 percent in 2011, from 11.9 percent in 2010, the Turkish Statistics Institute said on Thursday.
The non-farm unemployment rate was at 12.4 percent in 2011 compared with 14.8 percent in 2010, the data showed. The labor force participation rate stood at 49.9 percent in 2011, up from 48.8 percent in 2010.
