ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Special Committee on Petroleum Prices after thorough deliberation decided not to increase the prices of diesel by freezing it at level of February 1, however, subsidy in the prices of petrol would be given after seeking necessary assurances from the provinces.
The fourth meeting of NA special committee held on Wednesday at Parliament House, said a press release issued here.
Chairman of the Committee Syed Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Water and Power, reviewed the government policy on fixation petroleum prices.
The meeting was attended by Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar, Dr. Abdul Hafiz Shaikh, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Finance and Dr. Nadeem Ul Haq, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission.
